QuoteBloke (“we”, “us”) is quoting and invoicing software for Australian sole-trader tradies. This page explains what we collect, how we use it, who else handles it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using the app you agree to this policy.
Who we are
QuoteBloke is operated by a sole trader based in Western Australia. For privacy questions, mail hello@quotebloke.com.au or write to 104 Carr Street, West Perth WA 6005, Australia.
What we collect
We only ask for what we need to run the app you signed up for.
- Account info: your email address and a hashed password. Authentication is handled by Supabase — we never see your plain-text password.
- Business profile: business name, ABN, phone, address, trade or occupation, business logo. These appear on the quotes and invoices you generate.
- Payment details for invoices: bank BSB, account number, account name, PayID, and any free-text payment notes you choose to add. These are stored against your profile and rendered on the invoice PDFs you send to clients. We never store anything about money your clients send to you — we just put your payment instructions on the invoice.
- Quote and invoice content: client names, email addresses, phone numbers and job-site addresses you enter; line items, quantities, prices and totals; quote / invoice numbers, dates, GST settings, discounts and notes; and the generated PDFs.
- Quote lifecycle data: when you sent a quote, whether your client has opened it, whether they accepted or declined it, and when an invoice was paid. We use these to power your dashboard and the activity insights, and to drive automatic client follow-ups (which you can disable in Settings).
- Quote acceptance links: when you send a quote, the email contains a unique link that lets the recipient view it and accept or decline. Anyone with that link can view the quote — treat it like any other shareable email link.
- Job-site photos: with your permission, the mobile app uses your camera and photo library so you can attach photos to a quote. We only access your camera or library when you tap an upload control. Attached photos are stored in private Supabase Storage, are visible to you and anyone with the quote acceptance link (typically the client you send it to), and are never used for any other purpose.
- Saved price-book items and quote templates: descriptions, prices and categories you save for re-use.
- App preferences: theme choice, PDF template preference, and follow-up settings.
- Subscription info: if you upgrade to Pro, Stripe processes the payment. We store a Stripe customer reference and your current plan on your profile. We never see your full card number.
- Operational logs: our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps standard server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) so we can keep the service stable and investigate abuse. These are retained according to Vercel's standard log retention, typically under 30 days, then aged out automatically.
How we use it
- To run the quoting and invoicing service you signed up for.
- To send the quote and invoice emails you ask us to send to your clients, on your behalf.
- To follow up on unopened quotes after three days, when you have automatic follow-ups enabled.
- To process subscription payments if you upgrade to Pro.
- To investigate problems, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve the product.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your quote, invoice or client data to train AI models. We do not show third-party ads.
Where it lives
Your account, business profile, quotes, invoices, photos and generated PDFs are stored in Supabase (a Postgres database plus private Storage buckets) in the Sydney region (AWS ap-southeast-2). Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Subscription records live with Stripe. Email delivery uses Resend. The website and API are hosted on Vercel. Each provider processes the data subject to its own security and privacy controls.
Who we share it with
We use the following service providers to operate QuoteBloke. Each one only receives the slice of data it needs to do its job.
- Supabase — hosts the database, file storage and authentication. All data described above lives here.
- Stripe — processes Pro subscription payments. Receives your email and billing details only when you subscribe.
- Resend — sends the quote and invoice emails you choose to send. Receives the recipient's email address and the email body (including the quote / invoice number, total and a link to the PDF).
- Google Places — powers the address autocomplete on the business-profile, quote and invoice forms. When you start typing an address, the partial text you've typed is sent to Google so it can suggest matches. If you pick a suggestion we fetch the full address details from Google to fill the field. Google's use of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
- Vercel — hosts the web app and API. Receives standard HTTP request data (IP address, user agent, URL, timestamp).
- Expo (EAS) — builds and distributes the mobile app. Used at build and update time only; no user data flows to Expo from inside the app at runtime.
We may also disclose information if we're required to by Australian law, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our users or the public.
Information about your clients
QuoteBloke is a tool you use to manage your own client relationships. When you enter a client's name, email, phone number or job address into a quote or invoice, you decide what goes in — you're the one running that relationship and you're responsible for handling that information lawfully. We process it on your behalf so your quotes can be generated, sent and tracked. We don't use your clients' details for any other purpose, and we don't market to them.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we permanently remove your profile, payment details, quotes, invoices, photos and generated PDFs from Supabase, and we delete your authentication record. Operational logs at Vercel and email delivery records at Resend are retained short-term according to those providers' own policies and then aged out automatically.
Note: emails you've already sent to clients remain in their inboxes — account deletion can't recall those.
Your choices
- You can review and update your business profile, payment details, theme and follow-up settings at any time in Settings.
- You can edit or delete any quote, invoice, line item or photo from the app.
- You can cancel a Pro subscription from the Stripe customer portal (Settings → Manage billing).
- You can delete your account from quotebloke.com.au/account/delete (signed in) or by emailing hello@quotebloke.com.au. Self-serve deletion runs immediately; email-requested deletion completes within 30 days.
- You can request a copy of the data we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing the address above.
Australian Privacy Principles
As a small business we may not be formally bound by the Australian Privacy Act, but we follow the Australian Privacy Principles regardless: we collect only what we need, we tell you what we've collected, we keep it secure, and we let you access, correct or delete it on request. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please email us first so we can fix it. You can also lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Children
QuoteBloke is built for working tradies. We don't direct the service to anyone under 18 and we don't knowingly collect information from people under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please email us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when our practices change. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will also be announced in-app or by email before they take effect.
